Lyndia Baird-Wellwood was born in Truro, Nova Scotia, and currently resides in Hilden. She has always had a love for art and started painting at age 13. Over the years she has studied floral design, watercolour, pottery, drawing, architectural drafting, and graphic design.

In 1972 Lyndia was a member of the Attic Painters and Presently she is a member of Truro Art Society. She specializes in patronage-style portraits of people, pets and landscapes, using a wide variety of media including pastels, oils, charcoals, pen and ink, and watercolours. She also teaches painting classes.

Baird-Wellwood’s work has been shown at the Raven Gallery (Tatamagouche), Gallery 215 (Maitland), McCarthy Hall Art Gallery at the Nova Scotia Community College (Truro), Out of the Fog Gallery (Queensport), the Seniors’ Gallery at the World Trade Centre (Halifax), Colchester Regional Hospital Art Gallery (Truro), the Wooden Hog Restaurant Gallery (Truro) and Winding River Art Gallery (Stewiacke). She has also exhibited in shows such as Truro Town Acquisition, Municipality of Colchester Art Show, Truro Art Society Shows and solo shows at Marigold Cultural Centre Art Gallery (Truro), Masstown Lighthouse (Masstown), Parkland Estates (Truro), Colchester Historical Museum and Cole Harbour Library.
